Art and STEM Classes

At St. Mary’s School, we believe that educating the whole child means nurturing both analytical thinking and creative expression. Our STEM and Art programs challenge students to explore, question, design, and create while building the confidence and curiosity that will serve them for a lifetime.

STEM

Our STEM program equips students with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Through hands-on projects and collaborative learning, students explore the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in ways that make learning meaningful and engaging.

Rather than simply memorizing facts, students are encouraged to ask questions, test ideas, and solve real-world problems. STEM lessons often include building models, designing solutions, coding, experimenting, and working as teams to overcome challenges.

These experiences help students develop:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Collaboration and communication
  • Confidence in tackling complex challenges

By integrating STEM into our curriculum, we prepare students not only for future careers but also for a lifetime of curiosity, perseverance, and discovery.

At St. Mary’s, STEM is more than a subject. It is a mindset that encourages students to think boldly, explore deeply, and learn by doing.

ART

Our Art program provides students with the opportunity to explore creativity while developing confidence in their unique voices and ideas. Through a variety of mediums and techniques, students learn that art is not just about creating something beautiful, it is about expressing thoughts, emotions, and perspectives.

Students experiment with painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and design while learning about artistic techniques, famous artists, and cultural influences that have shaped the world of art.

Participation in the arts helps students develop:

  • Creative thinking and imagination
  • Focus, patience, and perseverance
  • Confidence in expressing themselves
  • Appreciation for beauty and culture

Art education also strengthens skills that support success across all subjects, including observation, attention to detail, and problem-solving.

At St. Mary’s School, our art classes encourage students to create boldly, think creatively, and discover the joy of bringing ideas to life.
